Kitethrills Director, Mike Walker will be away from work a bit this spring as he is the Contest Director and Head Judge for the National Kiteboard League. The NKL is a series of competition events to raise the profile of kitesurfing and to encourage participation and progression.
The first round was on the Gold Coast November 12-15. There was excellent conditions and strong competition for QLD state crown.
For the first time there is a link to New Zealand with a round in Christchurch this weekend 19-22 November.
Mike says “It’s a privilege to get to travel with the tour and see the countries, and NZ’s best riders. I’m really looking forward to the finals and to see how this develops over the coming years.
We’ve got a great format and it promote good kitesurfing – It’s really great to have a national competition up a running again – huge thanks to the organiser David DeWitt and the major sponsors Classic Holidays for making it happen.”
